Type 1: Creole Creole represents culture because it’s a culmination of French music and was the mother of Jazz and Zydeco. Creole is traditional and original. Some of its instruments consist of the clarinet, string bass, drums, cornet, violin, trombone, guitar and saxophone, giving it a definite southern feel. It is played by anyone who has the ability and is loved by many. It has many elements, some of which are more pronounced due to the spirit of the song. Creole is one of a kind. Creole is special.
Type 2: Zydeco Zydeco is the child of Creole. It is incredibly different but quite similar to Creole at the same time. There are many different types of Zydeco, considering that everyone “seasons it” to their own taste. The instruments are piano, washboard, piano accordion, triangles, corrugated tin with spoons and/or bottle openers, the frottoir, saxophone, horns, keyboards and drums. It’s meant for dancing, not just easy listening, and is too special to be tossed aside. Go Zydeco!
