Emotions
Innate- A part of our biological inheritance
James Lange Theory- A theory that state that emotions are the perception of certain internal bodily changes
Cannon Bard Theory- Certain experiences activate the thalamus and it then sends messages to the cortex and body organs. These are emotions
Cognitive Theory- A theory that generally says that emotion is bodily changes and thinking working together
Opponent Process Theory- The original emotion is suppressed as the opposite emotion is intensified
Schachter-Singer Experiment: An experiment where they injected people with a substance. The people were told different things about what the substance would do to them. They were then put in a room with what they believe to be another test subject, but was really part of the experiment. Their reactions were different based on what they were told and how the other person was reacting.
