India lies in south Asia, between Pakistan, China and Nepal. India is the seventh largest country in the world. India is a grand country. Many see India as a sub-continent rather than a country. The capital of India is New Delhi.
India is one of the richest and the most ancient civilizations in the world. India has the second largest population in the world, behind China, with 1.03 billion residents. The population is growing at 1.6 percent.
India is primarily an agricultural nation. It is a leading world producer of peanuts, rice, cheese, tobacco, wheat, cotton, milk, sugarcane, and rubber. Foods of India are better known for its spiciness. Throughout India, be it North India or South India, spices are used generously in food.
India is 1,26,338 square miles which is roughly one third size of the United States of America. Most of the country experiences three basic seasons: hot summer in March–May, rainy in June–September, and cool winter in the months October–February.
