Maracaibo has lowlands in the northwest and mountains in the east-west, it has 3 openings on the north facing the Caribean. The area is flat with samll slopes away from the mountains.
In 2010 the population in Venezuela incressed by 28.83 million people. Today they have a total of29,278,000 ; including the species in the forest. The population represents 42% of the world's society.
Angel Fall- almost a kilometer tall, it is 979 meters high, it is called El Salto del Angel.Lake Maracaibo- it is nearly 35 million years old, it is the biggest lake in South America
Venezuela's economy mostly depends on oil and petroleum exports. In most economically significant natural resources are petroleum and natural gas.The oil sector accounts for roughly 12% of GDP, 95% of export earnings, and about 40% of the central government’s budget revenues. Venezuela is considered one of the vast countries to have a great amount of natural gas. Venezuela has about 147 billion cubic meters of natural gas reserves.
CultureThe music of Venezuela originated after the country won its independence from the Spaniards.The music of Venezuela was the product of intermingling of the African, Spanish and native music. Gaita is one of the important traditional music of the country which is mainly performed during the festival seasons. Joropo is the national dance of Venezuela. Salsa is one of the most popular dance forms in this country. Carnival in Venezuela is celebrated in the month of February forty days before the Easter Sunday every year. El Callao is the best and most popular Carnival in Venezuela. Initiated in 1853, El Callao, which was called as Caratal in the earlier days, is celebrated universally, when people meet their family and friends. Carnival in Venezuela is celebrated with music and festivity.
HistoryVenezuela was discovered by coumbus on his third voyage in 1498. During the time when the carib indian tribe inhabited the land. Venezuela gained it's independence from the spaniards in 1821.Many of the later presidents were dicttors and ruled by force.
