What We Want What we want is never simple. We move among the things we thought we wanted: a face, a room, an open book and these things bear our names-- now they want us. But what we want appears in dreams, wearing disguises. We fall past, holding out our arms and in the morning our arms ache. We don't remember the dream, but the dream remembers us. It is there all day as an animal is there under the table, as the stars are there even in full sun. Linda Pastan

WHAT WE WANT a poem by LINDA PASTAN
The meaning of this poem is that people settle for what they think they want but what they really want is a disguise. It can be shown in dreams but dreams are often forgotten. What we really want is there , we just have to search for it. It will not be given to us.
Everything you Want by: Vertical Horizon
This song is about a guy who thinks he realizes what he wants by watching the people around him. In the end he realizes everything a person wants in life is not everything they need in life.
