I do not know my father, but i am the son of Harriet Bailey. I am a friend of Susan B. Anthony.
My name is Fredrick. I am hard working, independent, intelligent, and strong.
I love to read, the idea of freedom, and my wife. I felt (as a aslave) eager to escape, angry at some of my owners, and trapped. I find happiness in reading, writing, and learning. I need freedom, to know my birthday, and family. I gave my body to labor, hope to others, and shared my knowledge.
I feared the whip (at first), some of my owners, and dying a slave. I would like to see the North, my mother, and my father. I was born in Tuckahoe, Maryland; But was a resdient at numerous other places. My last name is now Douglas.
