The Battle Of Shiloh
Occured April 6-7, 1862.
Took place in Shiloh, Tennessee in Hardin County
The Union sent out a small group of soldiers on a mission, and when the Confederates found the Union soldiers they completley taken by surprise. The Confederates plan to drive Grant's army toward the river failed and they had to retreat. Grant's army had a total of 22,500 soldiers with reinforcements, and he used his numbers as an advantage to win the battle.
