Leonardo Da Vinci (1452 - 1519) Born in Tuscany in the small town of Vinci, Leonardo explored mathematics, anatomy, science, and architecture while exhibiting his famous array of brilliant artistry.
Here is the rhombicuboctahedron, which was developed for the 1509 publication, "Divina Proportione".
Da Vinci's paintings range, in creation, from the early 1470s to the 1500s. His most famous paintings are "Mona Lisa" ("La Gioconda"), "The Last Supper", and "Madonna of the Rocks". In addition to his numerous works of art, he also sketched his ideas on the anatomy of humans and horses. The portrait on the left displays "Head of a Woman", which is Da Vinci's sketch of his mother.
"I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do." - Leonardo Da Vinci
"Art is never finished, only abandoned." - Leonardo Da Vinci
