The Columbian Exchange
The Columbian Exchange is possibly one of the greatest events that has shaped the modern world because of what was sent to the West and what the East recieved. No matter if it was food, disease, or even people what ever was traded plays a role some way in modern society.
The motives for the Columbian Exchange happened after Columbus (who the exchange is named after) discovered the New World and Europeans started making settlements. After settlements were made the people there needed some resources that could not be found in the New World but, the settelers also had things that people in the Old World (Europe) wanted.
Motives
The Columbian Exachange had effects all over the world in sometimes negitive ways but other times postive ways. The effects where some times short termed and other times long termed.
Short Term and Long Term Effects of the Exchange

Long Term -Places became connected and cultres blended -Many people died because of new diseases in ares where it was unseen before -Slavery became great causing many people abuse and unfair treatment
Politcal Effects of the Exchange
There were many effects the Columbian Exchange had on politics. It made countries stonger like Britian who controlled the trading between Europe and Africa and Africa to the Americas. Also countries like Spain who controlled most of the land became rich because of the new good that they were exporting to the world. African villages that where trading slaves for good were also becoming rich because of this business.
