Life for Kids in Cambodia
About Cambodia Room 5 has been studying Cambodia for the past term and we found out alot of new and weird things, This glog will hopefully make you more aware of life for kids in Cambodia. Cambodia has a very severe hang over since the PolPot war. PolPot (AKA Saloth sar) was a communist and he wanted to take over his country by force, like Many other communists at the time. This glog will tell you about Cambodians weird passions of their life and show you how urgent it is to help these Cambodians.
Empathy & our 2 big questions Empathy Empathy means sympathy and we (room05) feel alot of sympathy for Cambodian children and how they went through the PolPot raid . they lost their grandparents/parents because PolPot killed off a generation (for more info click on the PolPot link). The 1st big question How has the past effected the life of Cambodian kids? The hang over from the PolPot raid has a huge impact on ordinary life for most Cambodians. PolPot killed off a generation (40-65) and so many children do not have parents. People are still wear red and white checked scarves out of habit because PolPot orered them to wear them as part of a communist uniform . Since PolPot declared war most kids have to work in rubbish dumps for money for their parents or elder siblings. The 2nd big question How does the environment they live in influence their lives? Well since PolPot killed most of their relations and made them suffer the price of having to work in dumps and rice paddies only to get 1 cent a week which is not the best of help for families i'd have to say yes and physically they're not in the best of health especially since they do not get the best of hospitality in the doctor clinics.
