The chance to dance Their was time when life was good and you were well, Then one day like an eagle you fell, You soared high in the mighty ski, You had the most beautiful wings of any angel I’ve ever seen, You flaunted them mighty and proud, But one day some one broke those wings apart, They ripped them off your back, And you fell to the ground harder than I ever could have imagined, You who caused me so much pain, You whom I could have avoided and never met, I didn’t have to walk down that road with you, I could have avoided it all if I hadn’t, All this pain and sorrow, But if I had I would have missed my chance, I would have never met an amazing person like you, I would have never laughed so hard, I wouldn’t have had that guitar, I would have never loved music, You gave so much more than a friend, You gave me a chance to live my life, You gave me the chance to dance, A chance I would have never taken if I hadn’t met you, I would have stayed on the side line, But you gave me the courage to live again, And I went on that dance floor and took them all by surprise, And each move I moved I moved for you, Each step I took I took for you, Each rose they through they through for you, With the fire and fury in my eyes I took them all, I showed all of them that I can live, That I can take a chance and love again, They looked at me as though I were a new man, And I was, You gave me a chance no one ever has before, You told me I was good enough, And you were right because I am, So even though you didn’t make it, I still dance every night, I still go out their and take them all again, Every day I live by what you taught me, So I could have avoided all the pain of loosing you, But then I never would have had the chance to dance, And they my friend, Is something I couldn’t miss…
That I can take a chance and love again, They looked at me as though I were a new man, And I was, You gave me a chance no one ever has before, You told me I was good enough, And you were right because I am, So even though you didn’t make it, I still dance every night, I still go out their and take them all again, Every day I live by what you taught me, So I could have avoided all the pain of loosing you, But then I never would have had the chance to dance, And they my friend, Is something I couldn’t miss…
