Hera/Juno
-Daughter of Rhea and Cronus -married her brother, Zeus -She is very jealous of other women because Zues typically cheats on her -In the Iliad she seduces Zeus to distract him from observing the Trojan war -She's the Mother of Ares, Hephaistos, Eileithyia, and Hebe
-Hera is the Queen of Olympus (hence the crown) -Her symbols are the peacock, a pomegranate, and a cuckoo. -She is the goddess of marriage, sexual desires, and childbirth. -The arguments between Zeus and Hera reflect the querulous nature of the gods.
There are many stories of Hera tormenting the women who slept with Zeus. One example would be Io, Zeus's maiden. Zeus turned Io into a cow to protect her from Hera, but Hera had her kept prisoner and tormented her constantly.
