Women
Women were considered property at one time and things such as writing, making decisions of any kind, and even picking a suitor were to be something they could not be a part of. Men were thought to be powerful and smart enough to make the right decisions, while women were just not thought to be of such intellect.. Men were allowed to go to school and learn, while most women were forced to stay home, learn how to do household jobs, and eventually, marry very young.
As time progressed, women such as Queen Elizabeth I worked to keep what rights she aquired. She never married and so she never had to worry about losing her power to a man.. She fought adamantly for the things that she believed in and she never let anyone let anyone tell her she couldn't do something, because she would then prove them wrong and do the very thing they deemed impossible for her to do.
Even today when women have so many rights, women are still fighting more equality and acceptance. Women such as Condoleeza Rice have followed their dreams and made it against the odds they were warned about. They didn't listen to the criticism of others and continued to fight for the rights they knew they deserved. They take high risk jobs that men say are a 'mans job only' and they do them with pride. They have found strength in what people have tried to weaken them with and have made the world an easier place to live in.
