Where a good spot would be on the new planet?

Where on this new planet would we land? Why would we land on this spot? What is so good about this spot? Does this spot have anything that we need?
We would go to the new planet if the Earth were destroyed. The spot we would land on is where the flat ground is, we would land there because its a nice place to land, but far from water. This spot is near a food source and mabey even a source we could use as rocket fuel.
