Chapter 2 Just when the wolves snarls were becoming all i could hear, there was a snapping sound. It sounded like someone was snapping open a folded sheet, then something feather and soft brushed against my hand. What was that? Looking up, i saw a pair of huge feather black wings! Suddenly Anthony's grip tightened around my waist and with a big gust of wind we were flying! Frieghted i held onto Anthony with every ounce of my strengh. Peering up at his face, there was a look of enjoyment just beneath the mask of concentration. He just looked so happy, i couldn't help but half smile. I loved this, it was amazing! Looking at his face i'd almost completely forgotten about the wolves, almost. "Where are the wolves?" A look of curiousity and worry covered my face. "I mean they have wings too. So why aren't they chasing after us?" "Oh, they are," he said giving an amused smile. "They're just not the best flyers. See if we kept flying like this for the next ummm.... lets say three hours, it would take them about a week to find us." "So how long are we gonna keep flying?" I couldn't help but let the excitment of being in hidding with him seep through my words. "As long as i possibly can." Looking strait ahead he said,"I won't let them take you." "Why do they want me," I suddenly found myself scared. "I don't know." His voice was distant and he wouldn't meet my eyes. * * * I guess I must fallen asleep because the next thing i knew i was waking up to the sun rising. Turning over, to face my back to the sun, i realized Anthony had an arm wrapped around me. Twisting my head i looked at his angelic face. He looked so peaceful, and innocent. Closing my eyes i scooted closer to him. Feeling his warmth i shivered, just then noticing how cold i was. Where were we? Opening my eyes again i saw we were in a tiny canyon. Well that explains why i'm freezing! Pressing closely against Anthony, i felt his arm constrict around me pulling me in closer. He was so warm. Making sure he was still asleep i nesseled my head into his shoulder and closed my eyes. Just as i started to drift back into sleep, when Anthony's warm lips brushed my forhead. "What was that for," i said happily but with some surprise. "Oh sorry." Even with my eyes closed i could tell his face was red. "I thought you were asleep." "Not quite." I couldn't help but smile at this. But how long could this last? How long before they found us again? No matter how happy I was just a minute ago, nothing could keep me from wondering about what was going on. Even if I wanted it to.
