London in World War 2
The Blitz The Blitz was the bombing sent by the Germans. The bombs dropped by the planes killed many pepole and destroyed buildings in Germany as well as Britian. It was a very sad time. When the bombs were going to hit sirons sounded and pepole ran into shelters or hid as best they could. After the war the gaps where the bombs had hit were filled with modern buidings. You can see this in Richmond.
During World War 2 there were lots of changes in London. . The buildings were wrecked by the German bombers, which was called the Blitz . Many children had to be evacuated to the countryside , so there were few children to be seen in London .
Evacuation Children were evacuated to the countryside because London was being bombed. They moved away from their parents so they were safe, but they had to live with strangers. For some this was a good thing, but for others it was a sad time.
