This book has had a movie produced about it known as Precious. It is about a young high school student who has had one child already and another on the way. Precious isn't trying to have kids this early, but something is happening in her life that everyone else is completely oblivious to. Precious' mother has done nothing to support her child. She beats constantly for doing absolutely nothing, but what's racing inside the mind of this ''twisted mother'' is a pain so heart breaking it could cause a stone to cry. Push is told in the words of Precious or first person.
Precious, the main character, is a large, African American girl living in ''The Slums''. She has a very strong personality and goos soul.. She can come off kind of strong and mean even occasionally, but she is a good person. She speaks her mind and is not exactly similar to me, but mostly a combination of my mother and my sister. During the book, she begins to open up more to people and show her true emotions through her writing and actions.
