Fish are a benefit for mankind in many ways. Fish oil is produced from fish and is used as a health supplement to keep us in good condition. We eat fish as a food and protein. They help improve the economy. The field of fishing provides us with seafood and gives fisherman jobs. As a result, fishermen give manufactures money to hand over fishing supplies and such. Fish can also be a sort of entertainment to us, some people have fish tanks, some pay to go to an aquarium or even SeaWorld to see fish and sea life. Fish are major exports and imports in some cities. In taking fish for our bodies is very good, it's good for the brain, the heart, the muscles, and if you do not eat fish then it's important to take fish oil, which has the essential Omega-3 fatty acids that our body needs. Fish live and die in the hydrosphere so they are constantly always affecting the hydrosphere. The geosphere is affected by the fossilized fish that can be found that lived over4 billion years ago. Fish breath oxygen and release carbon dioxide, therefore they also affect the biosphere.
There are some things threatening the fish population. One thing is over fishing, over fishing occurs when the amount of fish being caught exceeds the amount of fish that's actually needed to sustain fish stocks. Another thing is factory fishing. This is when factories locate entire schools of fish and vacuum them out of the water, this is not good because this type of fishing targets one species until the numbers of that species is so low that they turn to another species, which in turn messes up the ocean food chain and threatens some species of fish. Bottom trawling, global warming, bycatch, fish farming, pollution, pirate fishing, and many others poses a threat to fish and sea life.

Everyone can help protect fish/sea life by eating eco-friendly fish or just going vegan! Limit your uses of plastics to help reduce the amount found in the oceans. Use your car for transportation less, use less electricity, and water, doing these things will help the ocean acidification which is caused by global warming. So be energy efficient and you will not only be helping the environment but you'll also be helping the oceans and life that’s within the waters. You can also volunteer to take care of the beach, pick up waste, and you can do this even when you go to the beach just to relax, before you leave the beach pick up anything you've brought, throw away things that are trash, and leave the area clean. You should also dispose of all chemicals properly, don't pour chemicals or harmful substances down drains or toilets, this will help to keep them out of rivers and oceans. Choosing environmentally friendly household cleaners and detergents helps. Also, if you have a fish tank, try to use coral alternatives for your tank. Even buy coral alternatives for jewelry.
This is a scenario of over fishing or even factory fishing.
This is a picture of a school of tuna. Tuna is a fish that is a popular source for food for us! But schools like this are the fish that are targeted for over fishing, factory fishing, bycatch, and pirate fishing.
This picture is a result of over fishing and irresponsible farm fishing. It's a trapped turtle in the nets that are used to capture an immense amount of fish.
