I’ve never seen Jack do the right thing. I just never do. Instead, I have always seen him on the other side Of the law, Causing great force of repel in between our friendship. I’ve never seen Jack do the right thing. All the times I see him, Is when he is selfishly smoking, Disgustingly drinking, Dreadfully drugging. I’ve never seen Jack do the right thing. The only time I ever see him on the other side of the law, Is when he obeys the speed limits, On a stolen car. I’ve never seen Jack do the right thing. I get that rare recipe of feelings, Whenever I see him on the wrong side of the law, A weird mixture of shame and guilt, With a drop of anger to it. I want to stop the devil From taking over Jack. I want to show him the brighter side of the law. I want to teach him to be a world citizen. I want to change him. But I can’t. That weird recipe of feelings, Somehow always manages to stop me from telling him. I’ve never seen Jack do the right thing. I wonder why I became friends with a guy, Who is always on the wrong side of the law. I’ve never seen Jack do the right thing. I just never do.
Shame, shame, shame!
In my opinion, I think this poem shows strongly about shame, remorse, and guilt. While expressing the feeling, at the same time, the poem tells a story involving that feeling. I feel very satisfied with that, and to me, this is a very emotional poem. In this poem, I've written refrains at the beginning of each stanza, three lines of alliteration, and descriptive imagery.
