The night rides in on its pitch black stallion pulling the light from my day somewhere in the distant deep in my mind I hear its echos fading away
I sit alone in the stillness watching the shadows drift from sight how could the day treat me this way leaving me alone to deal with the night
I long to be drenched in your loves' light to feel it flow over my soul like a slow steady rain that numbs my pain as I bask in your warm hold
The black of the night has surrounded me now with the strongest feelings of you but till we're together holding each other I'll always have my mid-night blue
