A howling wind bending all the trees The tap or pound of rain on wood or glass Sings a complex song free of fees Making leaves and grass dance with the winds pass A man complains of all of it The noise! Taps, moans, and howls! He throws an immature fit To the man the whole mess is fowl A little girl happily listens The wind is whispering a peculiar conversation The rain is like brother, she thinks, acting tough as it deepens To the girl the storm is interesting, wonderful, and fun The man, unable to sleep, continues his rant Having lost the wonder of the sky's tears The girl trys to stay awake but can't The rain soothing and relaxing away all fears
