Interview with Symbaloo
Who are you? Symbaloo is a cloud based platform that allows you to save your favorite online sites, videos, articles, feeds and more. Symbaloo comes from an ancient Greek verb that means “gathering”. The site consists of tabs containing tiles that can be set to any online site, video, newssource, etc. The Symbaloo database is filled with preset tiles, widgets and feeds to some of your favorite sites. There is also a bookmarker plugin, for your Firefox and Chrome browser, that allows for easier and faster bookmarking when surfing to new sites.Symbaloo was founded in 2007 by Tim Has together with Koen Dantuma and Robert Broeders. Based upon an idea to make the surfing the web easier and more accessible. The launch of the mobile app signifies the continued mission of making the web not just easier to access on the computer but also on any device and anywhere. Why teachers and students must use SymbalooEDU?SymbalooEDU is a free Personal Learning Environment (PLE) for educators to visually organize and share the best of the web with students. With SymbalooEDU educators can organize teaching resources all in one place, encourage student to student communications, and promote innovation while maintaining simplicity in teaching. Why remixing the web is so important for your company? It's important to our company that we provide users a better way to find, organize and share their online resources. There are so many sites on the Internet and it can be difficult and time consuming to find ones that are good and reliable. With Symbaloo the sites are already existing in the database and if not available then a user can easily bookmark it to their "webmixes" and publish or share these webmixes with others.
