Liana Valente, assisant professor of music at Wesleyan College, considers herself ''to be fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with student-athletes at the college level, and as a group found them to be engaging, conscientious, and eager to learn. Valente feels they are committed to the work, to attending classes, and are genuinely interested in earning their college education.
''Student-athletes turn out to be some of the strongest and most prepared people in our country's workforce today.''

''The rigorous training that is demanded of student-athletes helps them to solidify in their own lives the importance of setting goals, striving for those goals, and then analyzing the results of their attempts. Commitment, dedication, and perseverance; these are just a few of the things that we can learn from our student-athletes (unknown).''
Blame for state of college athletics must be shared with the MEDIA for worshipping athletes and with HIGH SCHOOLS for failing at basic education.
