Colorado Tick Fever
Symptoms: 3-6 days after the tick bite the person gets a high fever which lasts for 3 days, goes away for a day or two, and them appears again for a few more days. Other symptoms include: -Excessive sweating -Generalized weakness -Headache -Joint stiffness -Nausea and vomiting -Occasional rash (may be light-colored) -Sensitivity to light ( photophobia) -Severe muscle aches
This viral disease is from a tick bite, often after long peroids in the woods.
Treatment: -Make sure the entire tick is removed from the body. -over the counter pain medicine can help relieve symptoms, but the virus must be left to run its course.
Prevention: -When hiking in the woods, wear closed shoes, long clothing, and tuck your pants into long socks. -Check regularly for ticks. If one is found on the skin, remove it imediately.
This virus is part of the mulitiplicity family because it has multiple capsids and sentiments.
