Summer Ball by Mike lupica
Evan Broom Per.3
Poem Summary This is about a boy named danny walker He wanted to be a great basketball player But he wasn't much of a talker He always worked to be greater He would do things no one else would Practices all day and night He works as hard as he could Becuase basketball is his life Eventually he got to a basketball camp Where he had to work even harder He wanted to become a champ It like he wants to be like Tony Parker Problem he is really short And he is way out of his league The kids at this camp are th best in this sport Which means its harder to achieve But Danny never gives up Even when he is up against his old friend This kid is really tough All his counciler has to say to him is Good Luck.
The Title is Called Summer Ball because it is about a kid who works really hard so he can be good a basket ball. He has to work harder than anyone else because he is really short for his age. Then Summer is about to come and he gets invited to a camp where the best players in the country get invited to. Which makes it extremely hard on him because of his height difference.
