Greece Falls to Rome
Christianity came from the Romans.
Philip V of Macedonia: Greek King of Macedonia between 359 BC and was assassinated in 336.
Greece Falls to Rome: Philip V of Macedonia became king in 359 BC. After being captive to the thebes for three years, he took notice to the Greeks way of life. He then decided he wanted to be a strong king and take over the Macedonian nobels and people. He came up with the first regular, paid army. He extended his power by putting together a kingdom and conquering bordering people. He gained power over the northern Aegean coast was by controlling Greek towns that Athens had as colonies and under his power went south to unify Greek city-states. People had mixed thoughts about Philip. To put the Athenians to their danger set by Philip, Demosthenes used every bit of his power, but failed. Philip took his army south and one by one conquered Greek cities.
Greece Decline: Rome was having struggles, taking part in politics, did not have much of Italy, and was under the control of Alexander the Great. Greece did not see Rome as a threat because the Macedonian Greeks took over the Greek mainland and Peninsula. Rome at the time was only focused on their immediate security. The Second Punic War almost destroyed Rome by Carthage and Macedonia Kingdom.. A man named Antiochus III came into power after Alexander the Great's death. He started out taking over Palistine and Ptolemies. The leader of Rome (Philip V) was killed by Perseus which started the decline of Greece. Rome then slowly took over.
Just like in Greece, stadiums are still being built today. People gather in them to watch sporting events and entertainment. Ex. Football and Baseball Stadiums
