I chose this topic because I wanted to better understand how divorce affects children psychologically. I thought investigating how these kids see love would be interesting as they come from a home of failed love. The question in my mind was: How can a child enter a relationship hopefully anticipating love when he or she has seen it fail at such close proximity?
TOPIC: Does Divorce Affect A Child's Perception of Love?
My audience will be those currently considering divorce and the people who wonder why they cannot lead a relationship of love without doubting it. The arguments and information I present will inform parents contemplating divorce of the effects of their divorce on their child's view of love. My campaign will also inform children of divorce of how many others are feeling the same way they are.
My topic will include investigations and statistics of the success of the relationships of children of divorce. It will also include interviews with children of or affected by divorce that help to pinpoint how divorce can skew the view of love. I will also talk a bit about the destructive behavior often common in children of divorce.
