F. Scott Fitzgerald
Fitzgerald is best known for an entire generation's search for the American dream of having money and to be happy. The ways of the youthful, wealthy characters portrayed in Fitzgerald's novels.Some novels Fitzgerald wrote were; This Side of Paradise (1920), The Beautiful and Damned (1922), and The Great Gatsby (1925) were wrote about Fitzgerlad's life, wife, and his children
Fitzgeraldwas born in St. Paul, Minnesota,, Sept. 24, 1896, Fitzgerald father worked for Proctor and Gamble and moved to Buffalo, New York, Fitzgerald lived there for about a decade of his life.
Fitzgerald volunteered for the army during World War I, before he graduated college. On weekends he would write the earliest drafts of his first novel. His first work had been accepted for publication in 1919 by Charles Scribner's Sons.
He lived in Long Island with his wife for some time. He then started one of his most famous books called The Great Gastby. He baes the characters in his book on how he lived with high dollar liquors and entertainment. From living wealthy, his wife Zelda, was hostpitilized for schizophrenia in Prangins, a Swiss clinic during The Great Depression in 1929, which started Fitzgerald's personal depression.
A decade before his death, Fitzgerald's troubles and the effects of his alcoholism limited the quality and amount of his story writting. During the times he wrote one of the most depressing novels yet, Tender Is the Night. After Zelda died, Fitzgerald started seeing Sheila Graham, columnist in Hollywood, for the last years of his life. He wrote but did not finish a novel called ''The Last Tycon.''
Fitzgerald died of a heart attack, likely to be by a long addiction to alcohol, on December 21, 1940. At the time he was forgotten and knowbody had ever read his writting
