Section 7-1
Section 7-3
Cell Theory: - All living things are composed of cells - Cells are the basic unit of structure and function in all living things - Cells are produced from other cells Microscopes helped develop the cell theory when Robert Hooke took a close look at a piece of cork and saw it had man tiny chambers that resembled ''cells.''
Cork that Hooke surveyed
Prokaryotes & Eukaryotes -Prokaryotes do not contain a nucleus, and are far less complicated than eukaryotes. Prokaryotes have the ability to respond to their environment. An example is bacteria -Eukaryotes are complex. and contain a nucleus which keeps the genetic material sepate from the rest of the cell.

Eukaryote
Section 7-2
Eukaryote cells are often referred to as a factory. This is because a factory has many parts with people preforming different jobs. Eukaryotic cells have different parts that carry out different functions. the nucleus contains the cells DNA and is a major part of the cell
Chromosomes carry the cells genetic information
The cells cytoskeleton helps the cell maintain its shape
The cell membrane regulates what enters and leaves the cell The cell wall surrounds the membrane and helps maintain the shape of the cell
DIFFUSION
moving from high concentration tol low concentration
When the concentration of the solute is the same throughout a system, the system has reached equilibrium.
