I think that I shall never see, A poem lovely as a tree. A tree whose hungry mouth is prest Against the sweet earth's flowing breast A tree that looks at God all day, And lifts her leafy arm to play. A tree that may in summer wear, A nest of robins in her hair. Upon whose bosom snow has lain, Who intimately lives with rain. Poems are made by fools like me, But only God can make a tree. -Joyce Kilmer
I like this poem because it has a good rhythm to it, and also because there’s a lot of personification in it, which makes it really interesting. I especially like it because it shows appreciation for the great things that God made, like a tree. Even though we can’t make things as great as trees, we can at least show our appreciation, like writing a poem about how great God is and to show our gratitude for the things that he made..
