HIV: Human Immunodeficiency Virus
Someone who is infected with the virus, is called HIV positive. It can take up to 10 years for the virus to damage enough T cells for that person to get sick and Devolope AIDS.
There is no way to know if you have AIDS. But if you think that you may have it or you just wanna know you could go to the doctors office and they will take a sample of your blood and test it.
HIV destroys peoples immune systems. The virus affects white blood cells called T lymphocte or T cells.
The only way you can get AIDS is when a person that is HIV poitive's blood touches you blood and gets into your blood stream.
The T cells are tthe fighter cells that defend the body from other sicknesses or desieses.

Ways to avoid getting aids is to always be washing you hands and never touch anyone elses blood even if they are hurt and you are trying to make the bleeding stop just dont and get an adult and never ever touch needles on the ground they could have AIDS on them.
