The Characters of Animal Farm correspond with figures of the Russian revolution, including Joseph Stalin, Leroy Trotsky, Czar Nicholas II, and the citizens of Russia. In Chapter Two, all of these people are represented by different animals. For example, Joseph Stalin is represented by Napoleon. This is because they are both the 'controlling force' that emerged when their leaders are overthrown. Leroy Trotsky is represented by Snowball, because they are both the wing man of the new leader, and rules alongside him for sometime. Czar Nicholas II is represented by Mr. Jones, because they are both unfair, neglecting, and evil rulers who are overthrown by the people that they rule. The working class of Russia is represented by the other animals of the farm, such as Boxer and Benjamin, who assist in overthrowing the leader, and are now equal to all other people/animals in their community.
'Beasts of England, beasts of Ireland, Beasts of every land and clime, Hearken to my joyful tiding Of the golden future time.'
''The situation was quite out of their control. They had never seen the animals behave like this before.''
Joseph Stalin became the ruler of Russia Czar nicholas II was overthrown, much like Napoleon becam e the leader of the farm after Mr. Jones is run out by the animals.
Animal Farm And the Russian Revolution
The events of the Overthrowing of Czar Nicholas and the March Revolution relate to the rebellion that took place during Chapter Two in 'Animal Farm' when the farm animals overthrow the cruel leadership of Mr. Jones. In both events, the people partaking in the revolution only intend for it to be small scale. In Animal Farm the animals only wanted more food, and the textile workers who were marching before the March Revolution only wanted better working conditions. The protests which had originally had no intention of becoming violent or widespread turned so when troops or men were sent to attack the protesters. It was at that point that the protests became revolutions. It was in this way that the revolutions that took place in Animal Farm and during the Russian Revolution were similar. They were also similar because they resulted in the removal of a cruel leader, in the case of Animal Farm Mr. Jones, and for the Russian citizens, Czar Nicholas II.
In chapter Two of Animal Farm, the rebellion that had been prophesied by Old Major finally became a reality when Mr. Jones forgets to feed the animals, and they become restless enough to form a rebellion, The animals break into the storage shed where the food was being hidden, and begin to eat all of it. When Jones is awaken by the ruckus, him and his men begin to whip the animals in an effort to end their mutiny, and find themselves being attacked by the animals and then run out of their own farm. The animals then rejoice in their triumph, and begin to eat and celebrate now that they have their own farm to live on and rule, free from the cruel negligence of Mr. Jones.
When Czar Nicholas II abdicated the throne, he did so after a massive rebellion that had began as a simple march of textile workers, that turned into a full-fledged rebellion after Czar Nicholas II sent troops to shoot the protesters. After his troops failed to control the rebellion, and Czar Nicholas II was marked as an incompetent leader, he abdicated the throne, and gave the country to the working class soviets, who were lead by Joseph Stalin.

The March Revolution was a widepread mutiny that had began as a simple protest of textile workers.
Napoleon, who represented Joseph Stalin was described as: 'a large, rather fierce-looking Berkshire boar, the only Berkshire on the farm, not much of a talker, but with a reputation of getting his own way.'
