Act 149 of the 1984 Louisiana Legislature enacted a mandatory education requirement for anyone born on or after September 1, 1969. All young hunters must successfully complete the course prior to purchasing a hunting license.

The people it effected most is the older hunters who never had to take the class in order to hunt. Now they are required to take it in order to keep hunting.
The only problems were the older hunters that would continue to hunt with their Lifetime Liscens. If they got introuble they would get fined.
