She opened the door to the tree and the light hit them the boys grabbed at their eyes for they haven’t seen the light of day in week months maybe years clutching the egg she led the boys to the blood stained stream she stood there watching the blood rush off of her into the stream the boys rushed into the water laughing and splashing like little boys she watched them and wanted to cry but she couldn’t they bathed in the cold water but did not drink it for they were not sure if it was safe or not and neither did she, she took a deep breath in and sighed one of the boys came and stood next to her he was tall broad shouldered dark hair and deep green eyes she looked up at him and smiled he smiled back down at her she looked at the other boys loving the water he spoke to her in the tree he had a deep voice powerful but calm “you did the right thing don’t be ashamed you saved us and the others” she looked up at him confused then looked back at the other boys tears stinging at the back her eyes she didn’t let them fall he lay a hand on her shoulder his touch made her cringe then weakened and powerless she had a fear of the men now even if they are the good ones she shook it off and they moved on he stayed by her side they were about to go into the room where the white dragon had once stood tears silently fell down her cheeks now she opened the door and there he lay motionless the boy stood back “he’s dead, he killed him” they boys hung their heads as they saw her tears she took a step toward the fallen dragon and walked slowly to his face she traced his scare with her hand and fell to her knees tears burning her cold cheeks the boys stood behind her not saying a word the boy with green eyes knelt next to her and took her hand “he protected you for a reason he showed you that egg of a reason, he knew you had the heart and strength” she looked at him tear-filled eyes confused she looked down at the egg her tears soaked it, it began to glow in her hands she stood up and the white dragon began to disappear she grasped at him but he turned to dust in her hand she cried out but it was no use the boy with green eyes held her tight to him the other stared in amazement the egg began to crack in her hands she held it out looking at it she looked at the boy he put his hands on hers the egg cracked even more than a blue light burst from the egg so bright it knocked us over the egg fell to the ground in the ash of the white dragons she looked up and there stood a baby blue dragon the boy looked at the baby in amazement as well as the other she lifted her hand to the dragon and out came a burst of fire she pulled her hand back holding it to her chest “ow” she cried out they boy looked at her hand and stood up slowly and bowed his head to her “we are in the presence of a hero, of a savior, and of a dragon rider” she looked down at her hand the burn was shaped like a dragon the baby looked up at her and crawled into her lap she couldn’t help but smile she stood dragon in hand looked at the boys and walked to the door into the toy room they walked swiftly through to the next room “how many rooms are there” they asked she laughed and said “many” soon they were to the tower room she didn’t know where to go from there none of them did there where doors everywhere widows leading to nowhere at all she was still hunted by killing him but she had no choice or did she, she wasn’t sure what to think anymore she would never be the same person ever again and she knew that the boy stood close to her he seemed afraid to leave her side the other boys would open the doors to see where they went or go through the widows in hope to find a way out but they could find nothing no way out they were trapped and the only person who knew how to get out was laying dead and bleeding on the cold damp floor of the tree thought of it gave her the chills she shook it off and holding her dragon close to her she closed her eyes a cold wind swirled around her blowing her hair and dress behind her the face of the white dragon appeared in her mind she smiled a little bit and she knew they would get out of here she opened her eyes to see the boys peering at her she smiled and turned to a wall with no door no window “we’ve been looking in the wrong places” she said and pushed at the stone wall with all her might it moved and a warm breeze hit her face caressing it with sunlight
