My
Ecological
Footprint
Ever find yourself asking what is an Ecological Footprint?
An Ecological Footprint is a standard measurement of a unit's influence on it's habitat based on consumption and pollution.
My score for the ecological footprint was 495. My score in hectares made it in the category of 6.0-7.7. The other countries that made it in that category were Hong Kong, Singapore and Canada.
6.0-7.7 World Average: 2.03 Canada: 7.29 Hong Kong: 6.08
The two portions that make the biggest contributions to my Ecological Footprint are Transportation and Food. The parts of my lifestyle that are small compared to the others are Home, Purchases and Waste.
What can be done to decrease my Ecological Footprint?
Actions: Home- 1. Look into solar energy to cool the house down. Food- 1. Eat less meals per week that deal with meat or fish. Transportation- 1. Walk TO school like I do home. Waste- 1. Compost.
