If chance will have me king, why, chance may crown me.
About Macbeth: The Tragedy of Macbeth (commonly called Macbeth) is a play by William Shakespeare.. It is Shakespeare's short tragedy and is written between 1603 and 1607. The earliest account of a performance was April 1611,
Shakespeare's sources for the tragedy were: - Accounts of King Macbeth of Scotland, Macduff - Duncan in Holinshed's Chronicles (1587) - A history of England, Scotland and Ireland - Based on Real Story - However, the story of Macbeth as told by Shakespeare is different to the play itself. Shakespeare has purposely changed parts of the real story, this is because the purpose of this play was to please King James I to pay for Shakespeare’s plays. King James I was superstitious about Witches, this play reinforces King James I idea/ proves his ideas to be right. - Actually, the true fact was Banquo helped Macbeth to kill King Duncan. On the other hand, in Shakespeare’s play, Banquo didn't know anything about it. Shakespeare changed Banquo’s role because Banquo was a distant ancestor of King James I and to make King James I seem noble and innocent.
