Amy Lee was born on the 13th of December 1981 in Riverside,California, she is an american singer/songwriter. she is also a trained pianist.She is the lead singer of popular rock band Evanescence.Shes the daughter of John Lee,a DJ and tv personality and sarah cargill.She has one brother and two sisters.Amy-Lee had a third sister who died from an unknown illness in 1987.Amy Lee is of English and Scottish heritage.Amy lee wrote her first song at just eleven years old. She co-founded Evanescence along with bandmate Ben Moody.He decided to start up a band with Amy lee when he heard her playing Meatloafs "i would do anything for love" on the piano.Ben later left Evanscence due to "creative differences"
Evanescence have had two successful albums "Fallen" and "The open door" Amy Lee is now married to Josh Hartzler they married on may the 6th 2007.Amy lee has said to have designed many of the outfits she wears to apprearances and on stage herself.She once created a song for "the chronicles of Narnia" but it was later changed to someone elses song because amy lees was said to have been too "depressing".She made a brief appearance in Johnny Cash's video "gods gonna cut you down" She has also dueted with the likes of Seether.
