Contsructions! Constructing a perpendicular bisector to a line segment
and a straight edge for drawing lines
you will need a compass for measuring
First, you will be given a line segement. For example, here's segment AB.

Ok, so here we go.... Put the point of your compass on point A. Open it more than halfway (past where the midpoint should be), and swing an arc above and below.
Now keep your compass the same amount open, and point it on the other endpoint of your segment (point B). Swing an arc the same way.
Your arcs will intersect above the line and below it. Connect those points of intersection using a straight edge.
Ta Da! Perpendicular Bisector!
