“Oh Anna, that’s great! He’s so polite. And he seems like a wonderful man for you.” “Look, Mother. I have to go. I’ll see you soon, good bye!” “Bye dear!” I closed my laptop and removed my I.C.D. “Anna?” Michael said. “Yeah?” “Look, I know we just met last night, but I am glad we did. My sister Marie just told me this morning that she’s getting married in three months. And… she said if I don’t have someone to go with she’ll be pretty upset. My sister has been telling me to get a girlfriend for the longest time now. And I met you, and I feel like you’re perfect. I mean….” He stopped, made this adorably confused face then said, “I don’t know what I mean…” I smiled, my eyes started watering. “Mike, you’re really sweet. And yes, I’ll go with you to your sister’s wedding. As a matter of fact, a co-worker who is coming in just told me that she can take over for me for the next five months. I have the next five months free, it seems! The leader of our organization already told me to take some time off, because for the last two months, I’ve been doing intensive missions. I would love to explain it, but I feel the same way… about you.” “Well, I’m glad you understand.” He said with a straight face. He proceeded to lean his head back in the seat and close his eyes. After I was certain he was asleep, I took out my I.C.D and started talking to Jen. “Hi Jen!” I typed. “Annabelle? Is that you?” Her reply was punctuated with a smiley. “Yeah, do you know where I am?” “No.” “Well, then allow me to enlighten you. I’m on a prearranged flight with my” I paused, uncertain of what to type. “My boyfriend. Mike.” “Oh, really? I see… So, what do you think of him?!” I sighed, letting my head back. I knew it, I thought to myself with a smile. “Jennifer Marcie Elyse Gerrison. I knew it! You set me up with him. I knew it. I’ll get you for this. Anyway, he’s great. I mean, we get along really well. I’m amazed to be honest. I can’t believe it though. You set me up! I will never forget that Jennifer!” “Oh please, you’re welcome. Look, I’m going to be on a flight to the US myself next week. I should be there in four days. I’m staying with Mom, she already said yes- since I’ve known you since preschool! Anyway, do me a favor will you? Try and get in touch with Garret Micline. He’s a friend of mine who I’m… well, you know. Look, I have to go. Talk to you later! Bye!” And with that, she signed off. I disconnected my I.C.D again, packed it up and opened a new document on my computer journal. January 2, 2010 Journal Entry I’m currently on a plane flying to the US after a rather eventful evening yesterday. I met a most… interesting person. It would seem it was on purpose as well. I can’t believe Jen set me up like this. Actually I can, she’s TRIED before, but never has it worked. Well, I have to go. The plane landed ahead of schedule by an hour. It turns out that our flight plan had been cleared, the weather I mean. The stay in New York was rather dull too. We woke up extra early to fly out to California on an earlier flight. We were landing in California at approximately 9:24:98 am their time. That’s early. We caught a taxi to my Aunt’s house. We grabbed our bags and we went into the house. My brother Luke flew down the stairs and practically tackled me trying to give me a hug. He had on a pair of light jeans, a plain black tee and socks. His blond hair was rumpled and messy and he was grinning.
