Anthony Horowitz
He was born in 1956, in Stanmore, to a family with great wealth and reputation. Anthony grew up with many nannies, servants, and chauffeurs around him. His father was a very wealthy businessman. "My father was a very secretive man", is a sentence Anthony described his father with once. Anthony's father, before the end of his death, nearly went bankrupt with all his money. Luckily, his father withdrew his money, and deposited it under another account under a false name. His mother searched for the money for years, but nevery found it. Anthony really adored his mother, and on his 13th birthday, his mom gave him a human skull! On the other hand, his grandmother he says, "a truly evil person", his first and worst villian. He actually recorded him and his siter dancing on her grave when she died! When Anthony was little, he was an unhappy and overweight kid. Family means," he recalls, "had colories running into the thousands... I was an astoundingly large, round child..."At the age of eight, Anthony went off to boarding school, a boarding school with a headmaster who flogged the boys there till they bled. Once, Anthony was even told to stand up in assembly and insulted in front of the whole school, according to him, he never actually totally recovered from that incident. So how did Anthony, a very unhappy boy from his childhood, turn into the creator of Alex Rider, a fourteen year old spy for Britain's MI6? Although Anthony's childhoold permanently damaged him, it was like a gift for his writing career, it provided him with a rich source for his writing. He says the only comfort he found in his boyhood was from the escapism of the James Bond films. He says that his two sons now watch the James Bond films like he did when he was young. Anthony Horowitz is perhaps the busiest writer in England. He has been writing since teh age of eight, and professionally since the age of twenty. He writes in a comfortable shed in his garden, for up to ten hours a day sometimes. In addition to his successful Alex Rider books, he has also written episodes of several popular TV crime series, including Poirot, Murder in Mind, Midsomer Murders, and Murder Most Horrid. He has also written a television series called Foyle's War, which recently aired in the USA. Other than all this, Anthony is also continuing his Alex Rider series, and he has also written many others series of books

Power of Five
The Power of Five series is also successful and written by Anthony Horowitz. It is about five teens who have extraordinary powers, who are known as gatekeepers, trying to beat the forces of evil in our modern world. This series makes it really interesting to read cause it is set in the present. With ideas from the presnt and places from the present. So far, in this series, there are four books. Anthony has said that this series will end with the fifth book which he is currently writing. This series is a great series if you don't mind supernatural stuff.
