1. LSD is the shortened name for lysergic acid diethylamide, which was first created by the swiss chemist Albert Hoffman in 1938. 2. An average dose of LSD is 100 to 300 micrograms. 3. It takes 30 minutes to an hour after the LSD is ingested for it to take any affect on the body, and each ''trip'' can lst any where from six to twelve hours. 4. LSD is the most potent hallucinogen known to man. 5. There is no medical benifets of LSD. 6. LSD comes in microdots (which are small tablets) on sugar cubes and in thin squares of gelatin (also known as window panes). The most common way LSD is sold is in blotters, which are sheets of blotter paper soked in LSD with colorful design and artwork (pictured below). 7. LSD is generally ingested through the mouth, though window panes and liquid are sometimes put through the eye. 8. LSD has over 80 street names, including the following: acid, blotter, cid, doses, and trips. 9. LSD is considered to be non-addictive drug, because it has been observed that those who have used it in the past can easily stop. 10. After taking LSD, you can have flashbacks of your ''trip'' from a day to a year afterwards, which can cause hallucinogen-induced persisting perceptual disorder (HPPD). 11. LSD can cause unpredictable psychological effects. 12. The short term physicals effects LSD has on the bady are increased body temperature, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, sleeplessness, and loss of appetite. 13. LSD is a man made drug, and the lysergic acid comes from ergot, a fungus that grows on grains. 14. In a national survey in 2006, 23 million people, 12 or above, reported having used LSD in their lifetime. 15. The negative short-term affects of LSD are paranoia, confusion, delusions, anxiety, and panic attacks, while there are few long-term affects. They are flashbacks, in some cases leading to HPPD, and Post Hallucinogenic Perceptual Disorder (PHPD), which is caused by and overdose.
