Cinnamon's Teaching T l
Example of a TAKS open endeded respnse question : Restate: To restate you put your question in your own words so that you can understand the question better. Ex:) Guilt is a part of Ishmael's life, because he's going to live with his uncle and Mambu, Alhaji, and Mohamed have no family.
B(Back up your answers with evidence from the text):To back up your answer with evidence from the text you can either give quotes, page numbers, paragraph numbers, or any proof that backs up your answer with any reasonable response. Ex:) '' I wanted to tell him about the discovery of my uncle, but I felt guilty, since no one from their families had been found. I also didn't want to destroy the silence that had returned after the ambulance's wailing died down. Page 174
C( Connect your R&A/B together) To connect your Answer and your proof you would have to basically restate your question(with the answer) and back your answer up with a reasonable quote or evidence from the text. Ex:)This shows how Ishmael's quilt affected him, because of his uncle coming to take him to a place where he could call hom while Mambu, Alhaji, and Mohamed would still be considered orphanes.
Tips: -Good punctuation -Reasonable Evidence from the text(Quotes, Page Numbers, Paragraph Numbers, etc..,) -Good Elaborated Detail -Indent your paragraphs -Make sure each sentence connects to the other(make sure your sentence makes sense and doesn't jump from one thing to another) *If writing a essay make sure you have a strong(good) Introduction, Middle paragraphs, and a Conclusion.
