But her new best friend called alcohol it will help her through It will help her see a different side to people she once knew She sees everyone as an enemy not people who really care Thinking they are people who for her were never there Until she changed no longer the person they know But anger and bitterness is all she seemed to show One day she'll realise the sacrafice she has made The more she plays with alcohol the more reality will fade She will disappear into a world of addiction that will eat away her soul It will take over her world create a big black hole The hole will get bigger if she doesn't watch out Deal with her addiction, let people in not shut them out Share her secrets and learn to let go Learn how not to dwell as she has so much love to show Knowing her friends and family were always there Waiting for her to open up and share So they understand the self punishment the girl is going through She will realise she needs to make changes for her life to renew Realising she needs to have respect for others but mainly for herself Not to take a backseat and sit on the shelf Take charge of her life and make a goal Taking simple steps will start to make herself more whole Gradually she will start to feel complete And know she doesn't need an addiction, she can stand on her own two feet
She sits alone crying and dying inside With so many secrets to hide She sees her only solution is to drink away her day And ignore the common sense people have to say 'Why do you drink so much, why can't you stop?' But she is far too busy to listen drinking up each drop As she drinks with each passing hour She thinks she has an undefeatable power
A power that makes her speak out and act strong Yet what she doesn't realise is the things she says are wrong She loses people, her friends she once knew And now because of her alcohol her friends are few People can see the damage she is causing and how much she has already lost Her loved ones and friends she sacrificed to the side they are tossed
