Peripheral Nervous System
The Peripheral Nervous System- contains sensory and motor neurons connected to the central nervous system. *Autonomic Branch- part of the vertebrate peripheral nervous system that regulates the internal environment; consists of sympathetic, parasympathetic and enteric divisions. It is involuntary, which means that you don't have to think to do it. *Somatic Branch- controls voluntary movement. *Parasympathetic- generally enhances body activities that gain and conserve energy, such as digestion and reduced heart rate. *Sympathetic- generally increases energy expenditure and prepares the body for action.
