Structure: The central nervous system is composed of nervous tissues made up of neurons. There are two types of brain matter are important in the nervous processes. This is the gray and white matter. The gray matter contains nerve cells, and the white matter is composed of their long nerve fibers. The spinal cord is connected to the brain and houses nervous tissues and support cells. It is responsible for the transmission of nervous impulses.
