It is believed that the souls of the dead come back to visit their loved ones and is celebrated on November 1 and 2. Contrary to popular belief, Day of the Dead is not a sad is happy.
Why- Is to celebrate the people who died and to honor them and put everything they liked.
What - November 1 and November 2 collectively, celebrated concurrently with All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day in Mexico and parts of Central America in commemoration of the dead. Also called Da de los Muertos.
How - It is a time for families and communities, to remember their stories and ancestors. The dead return in spirit)to visit their families, and in anticipation the families prepare an altar, with photos, candles, incense, food, drink and sometimes even clothing, and cigarettes. Everything the deceased enjoyed in life. Colorful decorations and sweets are prepared. Flowers are everywhere. Skulls and skeletons decorate everything! Not in a scary or gruesome manner, but often in humor. Families travel to the cemetaries, clean, and weed and paint the graves, and have a picnic there, with music and candles and joy.
