How do spaceships get lift?

Wall paper image taken from USA.gov
Nasa.gov I used this picture because it helps illistrate the liftoff of the schuttle
Nasa.gov I used this image because it also helps show the launch of the shuttle
Have you ever wondered how a space shuttle launches? The "Launch" is caused by Newton's Third Law which states that every force has a equal and opposite force.
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
An example of Newton's Third Law in motiom is the liftoff of the space shuttle. As the shuttle takes off, its engine burns fuel which is released and pushes the shuttle upward. The fuel exhaust has to be released in the opposite direction in order for the shuttle to accelerate and reach the speed needed to leave the Earth's atmosphere and enter outer space.
