Key players were introduced during this time period such as Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, and Lou Gehrig. These were amazing players that set records and awed people across America.
The first scandal to be recorded in Baseball was when the Chicago White Sox were accused of "throwing" the World Series in 1919 against the Cincinnati Reds . There were 8 players found guilty. Each of them admitted that they were paid off to throw the game.
Out of all the players accused, "Shoeless" Joe Jackson, the left fielder was fined 5,000$ and his reputation forever ruined. He is a Hall of Famer because of his lifetime batting average. But this scandal destroyed the White Sox at the time and earned them the name "Black Sox"

Ruth was traded to the New York Yankees, greatly upsetting many players and fans of the Boston Red Sox. With the Yankess Ruth hit 60 home runs in 1927, 164 RBIs and a batting average of .356. Babe Ruth was the only baseball player to be so widely recognized and was a "God" to many baseball fans. Every season Ruth played was phenomenal.
The most famous person to ever come out of baseball is George Herman "Babe" Ruth. (1894- 1948) . Babe Ruth played with the Boston Red Sox and was a pitcher and a phenomenal hitter. He hit many Home runs with the Red Sox, and they were a great team.
