Soccer, as the most popular sport in Korea, has a lot of benefits for Korea. The Korean soccer team led by a manager named Guus Hiddink took 4th place in the 2002 World Cup sponsored by Korea in association with Japan. After that, Koreans couldn't think about the world without soccer, because they know soccer has a huge impact on them..
How does soccer affect Korea?

In 2002, Korean people wished the Korean team good luck with one accord. This picture says 'Dream Comes True' in Korean. It made Korea experience collective responsibility by cheering on their teams.

Social benefits that came from soccer are priceless and precious. It allowed Korean people to be responsible, self-confident and not acting as individuals but socially connected with each others.

Soccer brought up Korean's patriotism. Koreans called Korean team placing 4th place a miracle, and started to be proud of their country. As being proud of their country, Koreans started to bring up patriotism. For example, in the past, a lot of Korean people didn't like to use or hang their nation's flag, because they were ashamed of it.However, after soccer got famous due to the 2002 World Cup, it made more and more people buy Korean flags, and write that they love Korea even more now. In addition, Koreans' self confidence has also been increased by believing that they can be just like their team, fairly successive.

Overview
In the picture above, it shows an enormous number of Korean soccer fans cheering on the street, wearing the red T Shirts above. Soccer gave them an opportunity to think in the same mind. In addition, by actually playing soccer, they leaned how to cooperate, which means they learned solidarity.
