Throughout Native American culture there have been thousands of ceremonies that have been performed for various reasons such as religious purchases, health reasons and also for special occasions.
Ceremonial Dances Consist of. . . . . Rain Dance, Good Crop Dance, Harvest Dance, Spirit Dance, Stomp Dance.
Indians were very eager to embrace ceremonies or portions of ceremonies that provided power to overcome the difficulties of life. These practices developed and were modified and imbued with additional meanings and purposes so as to better suit their religion.

Indian ceremonies were often createdwithin local groups. Certain parts of Indian ceremonies have been traced back to the Old World.
Native American ceremonies helped to tell many stories and were one of the first forms of American Literature.
